Today we are taking part in the blog tour for Sona Sharma Very Best Big Sister written by Chitra Soundar and illustrated by Jen Khatun.
Read on for Lily’s thoughts on the book.
Sona Sharma is used to having the attention on her and being the only child in the house, but then one day it all changes.
Sona is going to have a new baby sister!
Sona’s going to have to make some changes in her life to get ready for her sister.
She may not like it at first but when she sees the little baby’s face she can no longer be sad, she learns to share things with her sister and be happy and proud of her.
Appa, Sona’s Dad says she can help find a name for a baby so she thinks of a list of options, but she struggles because she thinks none of them are special enough! She wants to get it right and be the very best big sister that she can be.
The time finally comes for the naming ceremony and she didn’t have a name ready WHAT WILL SHE DO?!
You will have to read the book to find out what happens next but it is a great ending.
I really liked Sona Sharma Very Best Big Sister. It was a great story with emotion and all ends well. I also love that it was a different culture to most books I read and the illustrations were beautiful.
