Another great Malorie Blackman middle grade read.
PIG HEART BOY is about a boy who needs a heart transplant and the doctor says his only chance is an experimental procedure using a pig’s heart.
“I picked this book up because the title intrigued me. When I read the blurb on the back I was interested to find out if this was a procedure that could actually work. I enjoyed Pig Heart Boy because it got me thinking about what I would do in the same situation and the ethics of controversial procedures like this. It also showed how the family dealt with press intrusion and becoming a public interest story. The author wrote Cameron so well it was as though the story was real.” Joseph – age 11
If it was a choice between a pig’s heart and dying – what would you decide?
