Mayhem Mission

Mayhem Mission Burhana Islam Book Review.jpg

Mayhem Mission by Burhana Islam is “a love letter to every multi-generational family.” Inspired by Burhana’s own family and Bengali community, Mayhem Mission is a celebration of what it means to be loved unconditionally by family.

Lily absolutely loved this book and couldn’t wait to share her review.

Review

Mayhem Mission by Burhana Islam is a warm, heart-felt story whilst being a hilarious laugh to read. I loved the illustrations by Farah Khandaker, they really help tell the story and add to the book itself.

Burhana Islam, the author, really captured the whole idea of Yusuf’s character, making the reader feel like he was a real boy who just wanted his big sister to stay. I could imagine each and every character as if they were a real, walking, talking human.

In the book, Yusuf realises that when his sister gets married, he’ll have to be the “man of the house” but that job, as he later found out, was not as easy as he thought it would be. After a lot of research and answered questions, he came up with a solution: To create some trouble to keep his sister at home!

On Yusuf’s journey he spoils a beautiful wedding outfit, makes the best cup of chai by accident, eats a whole bunch of delicious Jaffa Cakes and is the cause of a LOT of mayhemmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmeroonie.

To join in with his adventures, read the book which is too funny for words, I hope everybody enjoys this start to a new laugh-out-loud series!!

Yusuf’s older sister is getting married. He’s ready for the delicious food, the fun with his cousins and the many presents… but he’s NOT ready to take her place as the responsible one. His only option: cause some chaos and ruin the wedding.

The first book in the hysterically funny MY LAUGH-OUT-LOUD LIFE series will have you crying with laughter!
